Registered Social Worker
Amy is a Registered Social Worker with a Master’s Degree specializing in Counselling and Psychotherapy. Since graduating she has specialized in the treatment of trauma and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), working primarily with Veterans and First-Responders. Amy also focuses on the treatment of childhood trauma in adulthood, and her approach to healing has its roots in Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS), Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT), EMDR, cognitive processing therapy, and attachment theory.
The journey of facing our own trauma is one of the most difficult things we can do. However, it is also one of the most worthwhile journeys we can take. Amy believes in the potential for healing within every person, and works with clients to remove barriers to recovery. Amy takes a collaborative approach to therapy, believing that treatment planning should be equally informed by client and therapist. She prioritizes transparency and welcomes feedback and questions at every stage of therapy.
Amy believes in the power of humor in the therapy office. She is also a fan of contemporary punk music and has two dogs.
