Counselling Psychology Master’s Program
Melissa is a Professional Art Therapist through the Canadian Art Therapy Association and she is currently in the process of completing her Masters degree in Counselling Psychology.
Melissa is 2SLGBTQIA+ affirmative and practices from a culturally responsive, socially just, trauma-informed lens. She works with clients facing depression, anxiety, grief/loss, trauma, identity issues, life transitions, stress, and existential/spiritual distress.
Melissa believes in the power of compassion, creativity, and meaning-making in the healing process. She believes the client is the expert in their own life and through collaboration, they can navigate the way forward.
Melissa has specialized training in Narrative Therapy, Self-Compassion, Mindfulness-Based Art Therapy and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, including Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD and Exposure Therapy for anxiety disorders.
In her spare time, Melissa enjoys creating art for process not product, exploring nature, and trying new recipes.
